7/18/14-Great night of racing at Farmer City tonight. Track was in great shape. I only made it for the feature so I don't have all the results. Congrats to 32 Bobby Pierce, 99 Jarred Krick 36L Jamie Lomax, 33 Jeremy Reed, and 75 Gary Turpin on your feature wins tonight.
7/17/14-Tonight was the $500 to win, extra cash added throughout, street stock feature at Farmer City. Congratulations to 99 Matt Maier who won the feature with a last lap pass over 61 Tommy Duncan who had led the entire race.
Quinn Racing would like to thank Rodney Eichorn for letting Jim race his #66 camaro last night. Jim had a great time taking laps in a camaro again.

Ohio's 91 Rusty Schlenk takes the Late Model Feature Checkers at Farmer City
The track was in great shape tonight for Late Models, 410 Non-Wing Sprints, Modifieds, Street-Stocks and Hornets racing action. Here's a recap of the night.
Late Models-18 Late Models raced at Farmer City tonight and B12 Kevin Weaver set the fast time with a 12.6. There were two heats 9 Dan Flessner took off to lead and win heat one followed closely by B12 Weaver and 77 Jay Morris. Z Joe Harlan won the 2nd heat followed by 4G Bob Gardner, and 91 Rusty Schlenk. The late model feature was incredible. The track was in great shape which made for awesome racing. 9 Dan Flessner takes off for the lead but Weaver is right there with him and so is Harlan. There was an early caution and at the restart Schlenk was in 4th after starting 6th. There were several green flag laps that made for great racing, Flessner continued to lead with Weaver right there when lapped traffic came into play. Schlenk makes his way forward as Weaver gets stuck in lapped traffic not once but twice. At the end Schlenk has the lead an Weaver catches him but Schlenk stays ahead of him and goes onto win. Weaver was 2nd, followed by Flessner, Harlan, and Gardner.
410 Non-Wing Sprints-14 of these were in attendance in two heats. The first heat starts with a big wreck in turn two and only 5 cars were able to continue on, 1A Mitch Wissmiller went on to win this followed by Chris Gurley. 5 Dalton Gabbard won heat two after putting a slide job on 10 Aric Gentry with a few laps to go, Gentry was 2nd. Gabbard went on to win the feature followed by 88 Terry Babb, Gurley, and Gentry.
Modifieds-15 Modifieds raced tonight and Indiana's 21A Nick Allen had the fast time. There were 2 heats, Allen and 7L Jay Ledford won those. Those two then went onto have an amazing battle in the feature, it was a really great race. In the end, Ledford won followed by Allen, 99 Jimmy Dehm, and 69F Jim Farris.
Street Stocks- Only 6 street stocks were in attendance tonight but they had an exciting heat race. 71 Darrell LeHigh won the heat followed by 99 Jason Maier, 22D Darrell Dick, 46B Scott Buchanan, 7 Matt Maier, and 46 Eric Wilson. The race in this one was for 2nd between 22 Dick and 7 Maier until they spun out with just a few laps to go in turn 2. 99 Jason Maier went on to win the feature by a wide margin over 7 Matt Maier who started in 5th, he was followed by LeHigh, Dick, and Buchanan.
Hornets – There were 8 hornets in attendance and Dion Smith won both the heat and the feature races tonight.

Farmer City Raceway track crew did an awesome job getting the track race ready for this weeks racing action. Here is a recap of the night:
Late Models-There were 18 of them and B12 Kevin Weaver set the fast time for the night. Weaver also won heat 1 followed by 4G Bob Gardner and 116 Torrin Mettille. McKay Wenger drove the 42 car to victory in heat 2 followed by Z Joe Harlan and 9 Eric Smith. Weaver took the B12 car to victory lane in the feature for the 2nd week in a row. He led the whole thing and the race in this one was for 2nd. Wenger held it for a while, Harlan caught him and passed him to claim the spot. 9 Eric Smith finished 4th and 21 Rich Bell 5th.
Pro Late Models-9 cars showed up to race in this class tonight. They were in one heat that 6 Jose Parga won followed by 78 Shawn Diggs. Diggs went onto win the feature that started with a 6 car pile up on lap one and with 3 laps to go Parga's engine let go in 3 while chasing Diggs for the lead. 34 Jeremy Mclaughlin finished 2nd in the feature followed by 33H Roben Huffman.
Modifieds-There were 15 modifieds and 7L Jay Ledford set the fast time. In heat one, 7L Jay Ledford takes of and leads several laps before spinning out in turn 2 and heading to the back. 62 Randy Shuman takes over the lead but only for a few laps before pulling off to the pits. In the end, H28 David Henderson won followed by 2L Justin Leka. Heat two was a great battle between 18 Jeffrey Ledford and Jeff Leka in his sons 20 car tonight. Ledford led a few laps, Leka caught him, then they were side by side for several laps. Coming out of 4 on the last lap Ledford tapped the turn 4 wall and Leka went on to win. 20 Jeff Leka went onto win the feature followed by 7L Ledford, 18L Ledford, 111 Bunting, and H28 Henderson.
Street Stocks- 10 of these showed up to race tonight and they all raced in 1 heat. 97 Josh Griffith won the heat followed by 61 Terry Reed and 7 Matt Maier. 61 Reed went on to win the feature followed by 99 Jason Maier, 7 Matt Maier, and 99k Jarred Krick.
Hornets – 13 hornets raced in 2 heats tonight. 83 Brian Wilson and 01 Matt Mackey won the heats and 2 Dion Smith won the feature.

Kevin Weaver Drives the B12 to victory Friday at Farmer City 6/6/14

Here is my recap of the night:
MSCS Non-Wing Sprint Car's – We will start with these as I don't have a lot of info on them. I have there were 20 of them in two heats. Bret Tripplett won one of the heats, not sure about the other. Tyler Courtney took the checkers in the feature.
Late Models-11 Late Models showed up to race at Farmer City. 9D set the fast time for the night in qualifying with a 12.85, 24U Ryan Unzicker had the 2nd fastest time. There were two heats 9D Flessner won the first heat by a wide margin over B12 Kevin Weaver who was stuck in traffic. Z Joe Harlan won heat 2 followed by 83 Scott Bull. 24U Ryan Unzicker had to be pushed of the track with a mechanical issue in this one and was done for the night. In the feature Z Joe Harlan took off for the lead, there was one caution for a spin in one, Weaver passed Harlan at the restart and went on to win the race by a wide margin. Has followed by Harlan, Flessner, Bull and 7T Thorsten.

Modifieds-There were 17 modifieds set to race at Farmer City. D1 Lance Dehm set the fast time for the night followed by 18 Jeffrey Ledford followed by his dad 7L Jay Ledford. 18L Jeffrey Ledford won heat one followed by 3L Jeff Leka was 2nd with white smoke flowing out of the rear of his car the entire race. 7L Jay Ledford won heat two followed by Lance Dehm. It was an all Ledford front row for the feature, Jeff Leka had fixed his motor problems and took off to the lead, Lance Dehm was catching him but in the end Leka won followed by Dehm, Jay Ledford, 36L Jamie Lomax, and 18L Jeffrey Ledford.

Street Stocks-There were 11 of them in two heats. 30 Blake Shelly and 99 Matt Maier won the heats. 99 Maier went on to win the feature followed by his brother 7 Matt Maier, 30 Blake Shelly, 9 Jarred Krick, and 50 Nathan McNeese.

Hornets – There were 14 of them in two heats. 01 Matt Mackey and 9 Brian Deavers were the heat winners. Mackey went onto win the feature by a wide margin over 11D Derrick Deford and 2 Dion Smith.

Jacob Poel takes the checkers and the cash at the AMS modified special at Farmer City 5/23/14
The American Modified Series (AMS) invaded Farmer City Raceway Friday night and 35 modifieds showed up to race for the $1,500 cash. They qualified in 2 groups with 21 Nick Allen and 82 Jacob Poel taking the top times in the groups, Poel had the fastest time over all. There were four heats with the top 4 going to the feature. In heat 1 Poel won by a wide margin over 25W Weisser, 21D Danny Schwartz, and 37C Crawley. The winner of heat 2 was 05 Steven Brooks followed by 32Z Zimmer, 14 Victor Lee, and 03 Cory Schwengel. 21A Nick Allen won heat 3 followed by G1 Menser, 3L Leka, and C12 Jeff Curl. The winner of heat 4 was 22 Matthew Mevert, followed by 36L Jamie Lomaz, 32D Tommy Duncan, and 55A Collin Alexander. There were 2 Bmains. 7L Jay Ledford and 292 Bobby Allen went onto the A Main from the first one and 2L Justin Leka and 18M Dave McWilliams went on to the A from the 2nd. The feature was caution filled early on but 82 Jacob Poel lead the whole thing and went on to win the $1,500 to win AMS feature. He was followed by 36L Lomax, 22 Mervert, 21A Allen, and 05 Brooks. There were 18 late models in attendance tonight, 83 Scott Bull had the fast time with a 13.01. There were two heats of late models. Heat one was a wild one with a couple of cautions at the beginning and 83 Bull and B12 Weaver racing side by side for the first half. Bull went onto take the lead but Weaver was coming on strong and made a pass for the win coming out of 4 on the last lap. Bull was 2nd, followed by 7T Thorsten, 4G Gardner, and 9D Flessner. In heat two, 10S Scott Schmitt won followed by Z Joe Harlan, and 42 McKay Wenger. The feature was another great race between Weaver and Bull in the end Weaver won followed by Bull, Schmitt, Harlan, and Wenger. Here is my video of that race:

15 Street Stocks showed up to race tonight. 42 Jesse Simmons won the first heat, followed by 13 Jordan Smith, 99 Jason Maier, 7 Matt Maier, and 22D Darrell Dick. Heat two had a couple of spins and some great side by side racing between 99K Jerrad Krick and 61 Terry Miller. Krick went onto win followed by Miller, 71 LeHigh, and 46 Eric Wilson. The feature was the 99K Jerrad Krick show, he led by a wide margin to take the win, followed by 7 Matt Maier, 99 Matt Maier, and 22D Darrell Dick. There were 14 hornets to race tonight. The first heat had an exciting finish as 33 Jeremy Reed caught and passed 9 Brian Deavers at the line, they were followed by 1A Bob Althouse, and 83 Brian Wilson.

18 Shannon Babb Races to Victory in the Illini 100 at Farmer City 4/26/14
Here are the unofficial results from night 2 of the Illini 100 at Farmer City Raceway, as seen by me and heard through the speaker near the bus on the back stretch. There was a huge crowd for tonight's big event.
In addition to the Late Models, there were 24 modifieds, 8 crates, and 21 street stocks in attendance tonight.
First up for the late models was the redraw of the top finishers from the night before to determine feature starting positions.14M Morgan Bagley drew the pole, 29 Darrell Lanigan drew a 2, B12 Kevin Weaver drew the 3rd starting spot, 32 Bobby Pierce drew the 4th spot, 99 Frank Heckenast Jr drew a 5, 39 Tim McCreadie got the 6th starting spot, and 18 Shannon Babb drew the 7th spot.
Next up was the last chance races for the late models. They took the top three from each race and there were 2 of them. 24U Ryan Unzicker won the first race followed by 55 Jeep Vanwormer and 44 Clint Smith. 89 Darren Friedman won the 2nd race followed by 5S Steve Sheppard Jr and 2 Brady Smith. Heartbreak in this one for 35 Derrick Chandler who had the 3rd spot wrapped up until a mechanical issue on the last lap.
The modified heats were next, 82 Jacob Poel had set the fast time for the night with a 13.83. Poel won the first heat followed 32 Nate Zimmer and 3L Jeff Leka. In heat 2, 21 A Nick Allen took the checkers followed by 37C Dave Crawley and 96M Mike McKinney. Heat 3 was an exciting race between 7L Jay Ledford and D1 Lance Dehm, in the end Ledford took the checkers followed by Dehm and 99J Jimmy Dehm. The modified feature can be described in one word,,,,Long. Lots of cautions in this one, in the end Poel won followed by Allen, Zimmer, Crawley, and L Dehm.
With rain in the area the Illini 100 $20,000 to win race start was moved up and hit the track next. 32 Bobby Pierce took of in clear control of this race through a few early cautions for the first half of the race. Babb did some awesome burnouts on the front stretch to celebrate his victory.

In the 2nd heat, 2% Nick Club put on a show moving from 5th to 1st to win this one, he was followed by 13 Jordan Smith. In the feature, 99K Krick had a dominating lead for most of the race and took the win, 13 Jordan Smith finished a close 2nd followed by 22 Darrell Dick, 7 Matt Maier, and 8A David Hurst. The pro crate late models were also in attendance tonight, there were 8 of them racing for $1000. Lanigan, Babb, Pierce, and Weaver, Illini 100 Heat Winners at Farmer City
Here are the unofficial results from night 1 of the Illini 100 at Farmer City Raceway, as seen by me and heard through the speaker near the bus on the back stretch. There was a great crowd in attendance to watch tonight’s racing action. I apologize for any name misspellings in advance.
There were 37 UMP Late Models tonight at Farmer City. During Hot Laps 32 Bobby Pierce had the fastest lap times with a 13.3 but he was then assisted off the track via push truck, electrical problems prevented him from qualifying per the announcer. 42 McKay Winger had to withdrawal from the evening early as well with engine issues. 29 Darrell Lanigan of KY ended up setting the fast time of the night for Late Models with a 13.369.
There were 4 fast heats for the Late Models. 29 Lanigan won heat 1 by a wide margin and was followed by 14M Bagley, 25 Clayton, and 1 Chub Frank. In heat 2, 18 Shannon Babb also won by a wide margin followed by 39 Tim McCreadie, 10 Scott Schmitt, 25 Jason Feger and 89 Darren Friedman. In heat 3 B12 Kevin Weaver won by a huge margin over 99 Frank Heckenest Jr. In heat 4, 32 Bobby Pierce started 8th and had his car flying, he went onto win followed by 1 Rick Eckert, and 5 Brandon Sheppard. This concluded the late model action for the night. Tomorrow night will be the redraw, last chance races, and the $20,000 to win Illini 100 race.

There were 3 heats of modifieds, 21 Allen won heat 1 followed by Brock Baumann. Randy Schewman won mod heat 2 followed by D1 Lance Dehm. 99J Jimmy Dehm won heat 3 by a wide margin over 4 Cody Baumann. 3L Jeff Leka recovered from an off night to win the Semi-Feature. In the feature, 21A Allen won, followed by 62?, and D1 Dehm.
15 street stocks showed up to race in 2 heats tonight. 90 Lee Hall won heat 1 followed by 99K Jarred Krick, and 7 Matt Maier. 99 Jason Maier won heat 2 followed by 22 Darrell Dick. The feature had 1 caution near the end, 90 Lee Hall won followed by 22 Darrell Dick, and 99K Jarred Krick. Here are the unofficial results from night 2 of the Illini 100 at Farmer City Raceway, as seen by me and heard through the speaker near the bus on the back stretch. There was a huge crowd for tonight's big event.
In addition to the Late Models, there were 24 modifieds, 8 crates, and 21 street stocks in attendance tonight.

Randy Schewman won mod heat 2 followed by D1 Lance Dehm. 99J Jimmy Dehm won heat 3 by a wide margin over 4 Cody Baumann. 3L Jeff Leka recovered from an off night to win the Semi-Feature. In the feature, 21A Allen won, followed by 62?, and D1 Dehm.
15 street stocks showed up to race in 2 heats tonight. 90 Lee Hall won heat 1 followed by 99K Jarred Krick, and 7 Matt Maier. 99 Jason Maier won heat 2 followed by 22 Darrell Dick. The feature had 1 caution near the end, 90 Lee Hall won followed by 22 Darrell Dick, and 99K Jarred Krick. 10 hornets were there to race tonight and they were all in one heat 42 Brian Wilson won the heat followed by 2 Dion Smith. Smith went onto win the feature, here is my video of that race:

Late Models: 89 Darren Friedman with a 13.15 in late models and 21A Nick Allen in modifieds.
Late Models:
89 Darren Friedman won heat race 1 by a wide margin. Heat 2 was the most exciting Late Model heat race, a 4 car (not sure of the name) led most of the race but B12 Kevin Weaver was coming on strong and made a great last lap pass to take the win, the 4 car finished 2nd. 32 Bobby Pierce won heat 3 by a wide margin. In the feature, 32 Bobby Pierce won the feature, he led by a wide margin most of the race, he was followed by 89 Darren Friedman.
Modified's:
There were three heats of modified's and the following drivers took the checkers in those: 3L Jeff Leka, 5 Steven Brooks, and 82 Jacob Poole who made the trip from MI to race at Farmer City. 99J Jimmy Dehm won the only semi-feature of the night. The modified feature was a barn burner. 82 Jacob Poole was leading near the end of the race but 21A Nick Allen was coming on strong, then there were a couple of cautions and when they got back to green Allen made the pass for the win, Poole was 2nd.
Street Stocks:
13 was the lucky number of the night in the streets stocks, 13 Jordan Smith and 13 Lucas Gash were the heat winners of the night. The feature was a great race to watch. 8 David Hurst (in a station wagon) lead the way for several laps before 7 Matt Maier made the pass and went on for the win. Hornets:

3/9/14-It's Dee-Dee and it's almost time to go racing! I am a supporter of the dirt on the track as they say. I love dirt track racing and have supported two tracks, regardless of promoter, my whole life. Farmer City Raceway and Fairbury American Legion Speedway offer great dirt track racing options. Check this area to see updates from the races I attend this season. I do realize there are many other dirt tracks in Central IL and encourage everyone to check one out to help keep the sport of dirt track racing alive and well.
