There were three heats of modified's and the following drivers took the checkers in those: 3L Jeff Leka, 5 Steven Brooks, and 82 Jacob Poole who made the trip from MI to race at Farmer City. 99J Jimmy Dehm won the only semi-feature of the night. The modified feature was a barn burner. 82 Jacob Poole was leading near the end of the race but 21A Nick Allen was coming on strong, then there were a couple of cautions and when they got back to green Allen made the pass for the win, Poole was 2nd.

Street Stocks:

13 was the lucky number of the night in the streets stocks, 13 Jordan Smith and 13 Lucas Gash were the heat winners of the night. The feature was a great race to watch. 8 David Hurst (in a station wagon) lead the way for several laps before 7 Matt Maier made the pass and went on for the win. Here is my amateur video of that race http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LMNh3ze8npg&feature=youtube_gdata.

Hornets:

2 Dion Smith and 24 Kenny Butterfield were the hornet heat winners, Smith went on to win the feature with a commanding lead. Here is my amateur video of this race. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIPx44cMcfg&feature=youtube_gdata.

That's it from my view on the backstretch, for official results check out the Results tab at www.farmercityracing.com.

3/9/14-It's Dee-Dee and it's almost time to go racing! I am a supporter of the dirt on the track as they say. I love dirt track racing and have supported two tracks, regardless of promoter, my whole life. Farmer City Raceway and Fairbury American Legion Speedway offer great dirt track racing options. Check this area to see updates from the races I attend this season. I do realize there are many other dirt tracks in Central IL and encourage everyone to check one out to help keep the sport of dirt track racing alive and well. Here are links to schedules at some of the dirt tracks in our area for the 2014 season, make plans to attend:
